We heard the same about Gender Critical voices - no True Irish woman doubts the existence of the feminine Penis, so it's all a plot by Perfidious Terf Island. Wait til they hear who invented queer theory!

Though to be frank, there always a grain of truth in this as you allude to. Causes and counter causes are global these days.

Btw, i find hilarious that the most hard-on supporter of Sinn Fein and socialism/Irish nationalism online, Cosgrave, is a tech guy who is financied by Qatari and Saudi money for his South Summit, the same organization who had as CEO Maher, the american who is now CEO of NPR. We can call all of this "Aristocratic Socialism" or "Capital-Marxism" at this point.

As Fitz has sagely written, the sacred consensus in broken. I have been called a racist and fascist for views like above, and just tell them stop telling lies. Once those words lose their power, they have nowhere to turn. After the media scum tried to try this, protesters looked around them T each other, and said we are just ordinary people.

Taking it from the top, Cosgrave has the unearned entitlement of a Glenstal boy...most expensive boarding school in Ireland. He is a gobshite.

This crisis, and it is a crisis now that we who like to be left alone have started to pay attention, is roiling this left wing government, and they are in reactive mode.

Two forces have run Ireland for decades, the property interests and the professional classes, especially law. There are literally tens of millions being made by property interests on Ukrainians and "asylum" seekers. As a former Attorney General and Minister for Justice Michael McDowell recently wrote, that with endless appeals, judicial reviews, applications for leave to stay after deportation is decreed, effectively they never leave. Champagne all round.

Cosgrave and his ilk in the media are never to be believed. They want to feel good, not do good.

Sidebar 1. Why no Antifa counter demos? Those Dub lads scared the crap out of the bourgeois who constitute ANTIFA. They Re hard as nails scary lads, who love a scrap.

Sidebar 2. The little girl who was so gravely stabbed to cause the big riot has been almost continuously in Intensive Care for months. Establishment are praying she gets well. Media silent "out of respect".

Take a look at London where the white British population (which is what they are classified as by the British state)have been disappearing from more and more districts leaving just an overall 38 %at the last count. The relentless decline has been caused by migration to Essex and Kent where they are now finding themselves becoming a minority there too, sheer numbers immigrating in a very short time span, lower birth rates and miscegenation. It won't take long for the numbers of white Irish to drop below 50 %at the current rate of immigration along with the other factors referenced above and once that happens any collective identity is lost forever . Of course destroying the identity of every European country is the goal of the globalists as repeatedly oultlined by Peter Sutherland. Remember the Tudor/Stuart Plantation of the 16th and early 17th centuries wasn't a total success because they didn't send enough bigoted Presbyterians and Anglican types across...

Exacerbating factors - immigration now a major issue in upcoming local council and EU Parliament elections, with leaks in the " goodboy" (TM Conor Fitzgerald) dam spreading. The juxtaposition of 30,000 Irish households in housing emergency situations and government predicting 30,000 asylum seekers coming this year is jarring. The sight of tents in innef Dublin along scenic canal replacing the ones taken away yesterday (rinse and repeat) is making regular folks, not just on right, believe they Re taking the piss.

IMO, there is a real possibility of a violent response by those who want this stopped rather than accommodation expanded. That is to stY, no more entrants and more deportations.

Who keeps giving them tents?

I struggle to understand how anyone could convince themselves of "the inherently socialist nature of Irish nationalism" when the Irish nation itself is Europe's biggest tax haven.

Given that the Republic has existed for a century now and GB is very generous towards Ireland e.g. CTA, easy immigration what's the cause of this chippiness? I don't even hear 'stupid Irishman' jokes any more so there really is very little interest in Irish affairs in Britain

The Celtic fringe is always chippy towards UK, really. When England lose at football or rugby, always glee in Glasgow and Cardiff. Relationship not as toxic as heretofore. My belief is that late Queens visit here did a lot of good.

The "theology* of Republicanism is that the only valid state is the Established Republic of 1916. No recognition of Northern OR Southern states. Very purist. SF deviated from this track in 1980s when Adams and McGuinness took over SF, & in effect elevated it's success as more important than IRA. It is now basically a catch all mildly socialist party, big on woke rhetoric but with very large working class base. Base is very anti unlimited immigration as these mostly single man are dumped in their areas, SF leadership knocked off stride by this so very confused messaging. If it is any help, regard them as an internal coalition with nationalist, socialist and republican bases elements. We have local and European Parliament elections soon and it will be all over the place. Await results with interest. Irish right wing parties are numerous and Re like the scene in Life of Brian, fighting each other. I count Irish National Party (split in two!), Irish Freedom Party, Ireland First, Independent Ireland.........ranging from nutters to conservative types.

I say mildly socialist as a party which raised 1 million USD in US in 2020 won't want to frighten the horses! Militant physical force republicanism is over, due to impossibility of organising in a modern state with modern surveillance technology.

Finally, Michael, blaming a flawed non-border security system on asylum seekers fleeing Rwanda flights and linking knobs like "Tommy Robinson" to opposition to this basically says our useless authorities are responsible for neither the influx nor the resistance to that influx😀😱✈️😂

A very nice piece.

Two caveats- There were those in the Irish ruling class who were if not paid by M16/Mi5 effectively went ``Anglo''. Ruth Dudley Edwards- Conor Cruise. There is also a secret treaty between Dublin and London regarding air defence.. The existence of the treaty was long suspected by rank and file of the Defence Forces- not confirmed until the 00s. The exact terms not made public The Irish Upper class are perhaps more aware of London's influence than the lower orders.

Being used as a pawn in a larger game - is an Irish fear going back to the Boyne. I don't know who Tommy Robinson truly serves but I know it isn't Ireland

Of course not, he's an anti-immigration ethonationalist. He's also a journalist and agitator who needs stories for his living. I don't think he pretends he's pro-irish in any substantial way but he was a key figure in the only similar movement we've had in Britain which was the EDL. After this was suppressed there's been nothing since.

"The protests are regularly covered by people like Tucker Carlson, and online by various Twitter aggregators."

Not sure what you mean by "Twitter aggregators" here? Seems like the only definition I see is "A Twitter aggregator is a tool that you can use to display Twitter posts on your website". Does this mean that specific news outlets are firing out stories related to this on their home sites through Twitter feeds?
